Last night was the first ever Armstrong Athletics 11-12 year old Division Championship Game featuring the Yankees vs. the Nationals at 7:30 PM at Pawkovich Field in Worthington, PA. The Yankees came into the game with only one loss on the season and the Nationals fought hard in multiple back to back games to earn a spot in the Championship Game!
The game proved to be hard-fought in which the Nationals took the early lead, but the Yankees came back and tied the game. A two-run homerun by Russell Hartman gave the Yankees a lead that became hard to overcome. The Nationals battled back in the top of the 6th inning and scored to get within 2 runs with runners on base, but failed to cash in, ending with the final score Yankees 8, Nationals 6.
Both teams battled hard in the 90 degree heat on Father’s Day and we are extremely proud of both teams efforts!
