About Us

Formed in 2018, Armstrong Athletics was born out of a merger of Kittanning Little League and West Armstrong Athletics. With the community in mind, it was the decision of the Board of Directors of the former separate leagues to combine forces and create a league that is inclusive of our local communities with the goal of enhancing the development of local youth baseball and softball players, while minimizing travel, and increasing the competition and quality development of our program.

Mission Statement:

Armstrong Athletics exists to promote growth, maturity and community of local children and teens through athletic competition. As a Board of Directors it is our mission to provide a healthy environment for the youth of our communities.  Our focus is to encourage participation, develop character and discipline, promote teamwork, and advocate citizenship and community pride.  We will strive to provide quality instruction in the development of baseball/softball skills, sportsmanship, competitiveness and fair play.  Armstrong Athletics is committed to enriching the lives of our youth and fostering a love of the game.

Commitment:

Little League Baseball, Pony League Baseball and ASA Softball is much more than just bats, balls, a field, dugouts, or any of the other dozens of physical items that go into baseball and softball.  It has become, over the years, a leadership program for both children and adults, with the aim of helping children to become good and decent citizens.

Through the application of League Rules, Regulations and Policies, developed over decades of experience, Little League has become a beacon throughout the world.  Children learn the positive values of good sportsmanship, fair play and teamwork — values they can use throughout their lives.  Adults involved as volunteers in a local league gain a sense of belonging in a community, and can convey their leadership qualities to today’s children so they will grow to be tomorrow’s leaders.

Any decision made by a Chartered League should be with both of these questions answered positively:

1. Is it in the best interests of the children of the community?

2. Will it bring credit to the League Program and to the community as a whole.

Community:

As is the case across the country, this league consists of a group of dedicated volunteers. Even with a large number of volunteers it seems as if we’re always finding ourselves in need of manpower, supplies and sponsorships.  If you would like to be a part of the league in any way please feel free to contact us through the web site.

League Boundary:

If you currently reside outside Armstrong Athletics boundary and wish to participate in our Baseball or Softball programs, a League Residency Waiver Request Form must be completed and approved.

Residency Waiver Request Form (must be approved and signed before the start of the 2018 season)
